Forestville, Maryland | A man was jailed on $100,000 bail for raping and killing a 3-year-old pit bull.
According to police report, the man named James Coleman was charged with animal cruelty in the killing of the dog named Rocky. Police said that Coleman told them he killed the dog because it killed his s*xdrive for being with women.
Reportedly, the dog named ‘Rocky’ was an emotional support service dog for an 9-year-old boy. He was staying with Coleman temporarily, as he was a neighbor of the dog’s owner. Coleman reportedly offered to watch the dog while the owner looked for permanent housing that permitted animals.
Rocky was reportedly found by a mountain biker hanging from a tree branch. It was later found that Rocky had been aggressively-sexually-assaulted. The official cause of death was asphyxiation and internal bleeding.
Animal control officer Erika Spencer said: “What I know from family members is that the dog got an explosive personality. He’s got some real anger issues”
Court records indicate Coleman “seemed pleased with himself” that he had killed Rocky.
“This investigation was handled extremely well and because of that a suspect is now in custody,” Pasado’s Safe Haven’s lead investigator said in a statement on the Prince George’s County Animal Services website.
“What this man did to Rocky is unspeakable; she suffered tremendously before he died. This person is a danger to animals and people. This will forever be a case that is burned into my mind and my heart. Rocky will never be forgotten, and he will continue to drive me to pursue the monsters who abuse and neglect animals.”
Colemans’ criminal record includes felony charges of domestic violence and burglary, as well as controlled substance charges. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
