Just hours after Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was released from prison Thursday morning after serving a 39-month stint for firearm possession, it is being reported that Gucci Mane was arrested again.
Gucci Mane was arrested by police inside 7/11 convenient store a few minutes from his home for possession of a firearm. The two officers who arrested Gucci Mane say they were in the convenient store when the rapper walked in and began shopping. ” I looked at my partner and told him, “Hey look it’s Gucci Mane”. That was just about 2 hours after he was released”, says Officer John Thompson. According to the officers, Gucci Mane walked up to the cashier with for a bag of chips and Arizona Ice tea and began digging in his pockets to pull out his wallet, when he accidentally dropped a 9mm Glock 19 handgun on the floor. The officers immediately arrested Gucci Mane.
“I couldn’t believe it” says Officer Larry Wilkinson, who along with Officer Thompson, arrested the rapper, “The man was just released from serving almost 4 years for firearm possession, and on his way back home for the first time in years, decided to still carry a firearm. I’m going to be honest here, I really wanted to arrest the guy and was hoping he would do something illegal the whole time we were in that 7/11, just so we can arrest him. God is good isn’t he?” finished Wilkinson.
If found guilty for possession of firearm, Gucci Mane can be in prison for the next 10 years.
