A young lad, fell into the cheetah exhibit at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Saturday, Cleveland EMS says he fell between 10 and 12 feet.
The 2-year-old boy was removed from the exhibit and transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has served summons and plans to file charges on Monday against the boy’s parents for child endangering, according to a release.
The zoo also said the cheetahs never made an attempt to interact with the boy.
Chris Kuhar, Executive Director at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo said the boy has a leg injury and they believe he was being dangled before he fell. His injuries were not caused from the cheetahs.
He is currently in stable condition and the exhibit has been closed since the incident.
