More than 50 people are shot dead after a 29-year-old gunman indentified ‘Omar Mateen’ opened fire inside Pulse – a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. 

According to police report, Its a hate crime. As the terrorist only targeted gays. He was well prepared, with an assault weapon, a handgun and 2 suspicious devices. (might be suicide bomb jackets)

According to Law enforcement, Omar Mateen, a U.S citizen but his family is not American, they are Muslim and are in Afghanistan.

Mateen’s father told NBC News, “This has nothing to do with religion. My son became angry after seeing two men kissing a few months ago in Miami, and that could have triggered his decision to kill. ”

About 50 people were shot dead and another 53 injured inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando.  It’s the biggest slaughter at the hands of a gunman in American history.

It is reported, Mateen opened fire on clubbers and staff first and then on police as they responded to 911 calls, reports Mic. 

Orlando Police Chief John Mina said a decision was taken at 05:00 am to send a police assault team into the club after receiving texts and phone calls from some of the hostages.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jerry Demings told CBS:

We can certainly classify this incident as a domestic terror incident. Our Swat officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect, the suspect is dead.

A series of heartbreaking texts one clubber sent to his mum while hiding from the gunman in the toilets of the club have surfaced, reports The Mirror.

The gunman holed more than 150 people as hostage, some of them hiding in a restroom frantically calling for help, until after 5 a.m., when the police, using an armored vehicle and stun grenades, assaulted and killed him.
