WASHINGTON, DC – It has been reported that the mega-store Costco will be offering marijuana in bulk.
Washington state has had some form of medical marijuana in place since 1998 and now it has comparatively lax cannabis regulations, allowing people over 21 to legally own 1 ounce of the drug, under the Washington Initiative 502. There are still significant restrictions for pot possession and use.
Since 2008, when the state eased up its medical marijuana rules, the medical industry has steadily evolved.
According to reports marijuana will only be sold in bulk under Costco’s flagship Kirkland Signature brand in all 237 Washington locations; starting this summer.
The pot use and possession remains a criminal act on federal lands, which includes the national parks and national forests. Tribal lands will also enforce their own policies regarding marijuana use and possession.
