An elevator camera caught them in the parking garage. Jouett — who was off duty at the time — somehow thought it was wise to take out his gun. With his other hand full with take-out boxes, he fumbled the firearm.
Jouett’s wife immediately got on her cell and called 911. Fortunately, the officer was quickly transported University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
On Monday, Officer Jouett told a local news station he was back home and recovering. He said he was instructed to not talk about the incident. He’s a 25-year veteran of the Erlanger police force.
